    Hi all,

As you all know I run a chain of pet stores and have done for years now so have done all the dog nutrition courses and get to go to trade shows, get pet store magazines sent etc.

Bakers is good food if you don't care what you feed your dogs. Next time you are in reach of a box of Bakers look at the ingredients and see how much meat is in it and then the junk that it has in it. Then look at the notice that states "NOT TO BE STORED NEAR LIVESTOCK INTENDED FOR MEAT USE" or something like that and ask yourself why?

There are far more better foods out there than Bakers for that kind of money.

Sorry not heard it on the net, read it in PPM magazine about testing on animals etc.

    BAKERS Empty Bakers

    Post by smccullo1 Mon Sep 08, 2008 10:35 am

Just read the posts on Bakers and felt I needed to respond. I fed my dog on Bakers for 2 years before changing to James Wellbeloved and then the B.A.R.F diet. My dog suffered regularly from hot spots (wet dermatitis) and he always had a dull, scurfy coat and moulted all year round. I had him at the vets on steroid tablets and steroid injections. Tried all the anti fungal, anti bacterial, anti this anti that shampoos. Nothing worked. The vet asked what I was feeding him and when I said Bakers, he agreed that it was a good food, so I didn't think anymore of his diet. Eventually, after 100s of pounds spent and no change, I tried my boy on James Wellbeloved. His coat, eyes and general well being improved by about 70% within a month. This got me thinking about what I'm feeding my dog. I researched extensively and the information found was both shocking and very upsetting. If you have a strong stomach, pease follow this link: http://www.thedogfoodconspiracy.com/dog-food-secrets.php?hop=557055 With the help of Maria at Jazzanova Rottweilers, a book called 'Give your Dog a Bone' and loads of info on the net I have changed my dog's diets completely and now feed the Bones and Raw Food diet. I'm still in the early stages and still have alot to learn about the diet but its worth it. My dog is much healthier and much happier. I know exactly what he's eating and I ensure he has a well balanced diet. His coat is shinier already, he's stopped moulting and he hasn't had any dermatitis flare ups since being on the diet. He doesn't smell anymore and even his eyes and teeth look healthier. And just to confirm how truly vile Bakers is....I have a friend who fed her rottie Bakers all its life. Her bitch was tiny. She never got the essential nutrients to grow. She was sick all her life. Always suffering from vomiting and the runs. My friend took her to the vets for blood tests. The results came back fine. She got caught by a dog when she was in season and the bitch lost all the puppies. Since changing from Bakers, sher coat and eyes are shinier, she has put on loads of weight and generally grown and changed shape and she's also bred a lovely litter of puppies. Anyone feeding Bakers, please, please read the linked article above. You really are poisoning your dogs slowly.
