    Toilet Training Empty Toilet Training

Post by Jen Sun May 25, 2008 4:45 pm

vegas is doing very well with her toilet training, she goes downstairs and scratches the door when she wants to go out. we are still taking her out after eating, sleeping, playing etc and she goes potty when we tell her "go wee wee"
we took her out yesturday to saltburn, on her second walk and when we got home she went out in the back garden to toilet. but last night she was a bit funny and kept weeing inside, not telling us she wanted to go out to toilet. i know it will take a few months yet for her to be accident free, but just wondered if the walk will make her overwelmed and disorentated, thus her weeing inside?

    Hi Jen
I don't think this would have an affect on Vegas , she may be just at the stage of naughtyness , being Lazy its easier to pee where she is too than to go out , a good sturn NO and take her outside should do the trick ,Pepsi wasn't really accident free until she was 8mth old , Like children some take longer than others.Trial and error is the key just each time the little accident take her outside , don't make to much of a fuss about it as she might think its a game and this making her do it all the more

thanks. she can be very lazy. sometimes when she is upstairs, she will start going down to the kitchen, then stop half way with 2 paws on one step and the other 2 on another and then she will pee.

I think, in general, girls are lazier than boys when it comes to toilet training. They also go through phases - I remember our Nel was totally clean by 16 weeks and then one night when he was about 7 months we came down to a poo and pee for no good reason - I think he'd just forgot!!! The main thing is to not tell her off for it - just ignore her, clean it up and move on. If you tell her off she's more likely to go hide and do it elsewhere - and there could be a steaming pile or a wet patch behind the sofa with you unable to find out where the pong is coming form LMAO Laughing Laughing

Toilet Training Empty VEGAS TOILETING UPDATE

Post by Jen Tue Jun 10, 2008 9:03 pm

vegas has been very good and is learning so much more with her toilting. she waits at the kitchen door and scratches it to go out. she has only had a few accidents in the past few days, which in my book is great. She is coming along nicely and if the kitchen door is left open for her and she needs to go to the toilet, she just goes outside and comes in when shes finished. Very Happy

Thats rotties for you they can be so stubborn, titch is great waits for you to let him out, suki on the other hand knows not to wee in thouse but if its cold of wet outside she would much rather do it inside, in winter we have to take here out for a wee at least evey hour just to make sure she wont do it in the house. in summer she is fine.

It does take until the puppy is about 6 months old before they have proper control of their bladder. I never tell mine off for any accidents, regardless of age.
