At the moment we are looking for a new rottie pup to join our family and i have rang a few adverts in the paper and noticed than the reason most people give for selling rottie pups (not breeders) is that they are snappy, isnt this a stage they go through? suki does it now and again but a quick and firm NO and she stops, one woman said if she didnt "get rid" of the pup that day she was giving it to a rescue center as it was dangerouse it was 4mnts old! ( i rang back later and luckly someone had offered it a home)
Its acctually put me off getting another one from a breeder as there are that many in the paper and in rescue centers.

There has been quite a few rotties in the papers and rescue centers lately , I have noticed lately as well that the prices have started to fall , but all puppies go through the snappy stages

Some people are just stupid, vegas was a nipper but if we told her no then she would stop, until the next time! she got more bitey though because she was teething and mouthing everything in sight, especialy my dressing gown!

All puppies need is lots of toys and play time to get their minds off chewing everything. dental chews and puppy teething rings work realy well, they used to keep vegas happy and occupied!

its so unfair, they should teach kids about animals in school so when they are older they dont make the same mistakes as what are being made now by irasponsible owners.

i totally agree with you, i think it sould be compulsory in schools as part of lifes experiences to come! what people dont realise is that its not only adults who are cruel to animals, but their children as well and i think it is vitally important to teach them how to care properly for not just dogs but all animals!

Pups go through the nibbling stage when they are teething mostly. When we have a pup I keep a raw bone in the freezer and give that to the pup to play with, the cold soothes their little gums and it keeps them occupied.
