i didnt get realy get anything done yesturday either. all i did all day was wash up a few times and make the tea! but definately worth being on here all day, its been a whole day and the images in my head about the 10 rottie pups pulling a sled with bordercolliepup sat on, on the beach with people scattering still cracks me up! lol!

Sorry to go on about it, but if you do plan to breed with your rotties can you please test the water first and make sure you have enough good homes waiting for your puppies.

We are one rescue in Kent and have already had 6 litters or half litters in this year alone from people who bred not realising that they wouldn't be able to sell their pups.

One of those pups is still with us at 18 weeks old. Good homes are VERY HARD to come by.

Agree Chicco!! Due to the docking laws and the bad press rotties got last year we put our breeding plans on hold until the end of next year. Its only because we have a waiting list now of 6 people that we have decided to mate our Cleo when she comes in season in Nov. I would never ever consider even mating a bitch unless we had at least 5 people waiting for a pup. Its called being responsible!!!

I totaly agree guys, breeding for the sake of breeding is rediculous and i myself would never do this just for money like some people out there!!! A waiting list is a good idea but then you are not totaly sure whether those people will take one of your pups in the end as one of my friends found out. She had a waiting list of 9 and when the puppies were ready to leave mum for their new homes people dropped out but lost their deposits as it was a term of the contract!!!
